Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)-Playground Burn Fast Sheet

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) wants you to be aware of the risk of thermal burns from playground equipment. You may remember the metal slides of your youth and how they could get very hot in the summer sun. But what you may not realize is that today’s newer materials, such as plastics and rubbers, also have the potential to become hot enough to burn a child’s skin.  Last month, OCFS learned of an eight-month-old infant who sustained 2nd degree burns on the back of her legs while in child care.  The injury resulted from being placed on a plastic “buggy” seat that had been outdoors for 30 minutes while the children were playing on a 73 degree day.

Reporting COVID Related Cases and Information

We are requesting that families report positive COVID-related cases and quarantine notices via the COVID Reporting mailbox.  Reports can be submitted electronically using the online reporting form located in the dropdown menu under Parent Corner/Current Parents.   While the county is working hard to report cases to us promptly, they are not always able to do so, and thus we need your help.  Please contact us as soon as you are aware of your situation.

Once logged in, you will be able to view your child’s classroom specific information. This information includes items such as: classroom schedule, upcoming classroom events, classroom newsletters, the unit theme of the week, and much more.  You will also be able to pay your monthly tuition.
